Color is Everywhere

WOW! Yes, "Color is Everywhere". This enhanced podcast is specifically targeted to the area of Early Childhood. It is an instructional piece on the primary colors, using naturally occurring Arizona plants and animals. This can be extended to the secondary and tertiary colors as well.

I work with 3-5 year olds that are on the Autistic Spectrum and they need lots of structure and repetition. Since many of the students in my class are non-verbal, the visual support is very important. At our school site all the students are between 3 and 5 years of age and many are ELL.

I hope you enjoy this little kids' "Color is Everywhere" podcast.

Early American History

"Early American History" is a podcast created to outline a course of study for my 7th grade social studies classroom. The podcast outlines early Ameican history ranging from the 1770s to 1920s. Major points include: founding fathers, westward expansion, scenic landmarks, the Civil War, the old wild west, industrialization, and concludes with early 20th century cultural settings and icons.

Arizona is Awesome Podcast ... (music is corny) but the Sonoran museum offered a wonderful insight into the diversity of Arizona's geographical environments. The animals were willing participants in the podcast as well. The podcast will be used in a 7th grade social studies lesson and the standards are listed at the end. Enjoy!

Podcast Showcase!

We are so happy to share these wonderful standards-based, enhanced podcasts that were created by our campers at the Arizona K12Center Camp Plug and Play 2.0. What a wonderful week of learning we had, as we moved through the curriculum of iPhoto, iTunes, GarageBand, and more to create some of the best enhanced podcasts for learning we've seen.

We hope you enjoy the posts created by each of the participants and please feel free to make positive and encouraging comments to enhance their learning!

Our hope is that all of our participants keep these few things in mind:

1. be sure to know your purpose, or the students' purpose for any project you prepare to do
2. begin with the end in mind and use the rubrics that have been provided, or create your own
3. storyboard, storyboard, storyboard, and then approve the storyboard
4. script out your audio, so that you know exactly what you are going to say
5. keep you audience in mind.

We hope to see you next year at Camp Plug and Play! What a great group of learners! Thanks for everything.
